Energy Performance Certification of Boiler Installations

Boilers are designed to transmit heat from the burning fuel to water. A part of the heat energy input as fuel, is lost through the heat in the chimney and as heat losses to the surroundings in the plant room. Only the heat energy transmitted to the water is the useful output and heat losses can be as high as 10 to 12%. Part of this loss is inevitable but excessive energy losses will result in unnecessarily increased heating costs of your building.

As from January 2009, the Maltese Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations, in accordance with the European Union's Energy Performance in Buildings Directive require that boiler installations be regularly inspected and periodically certified to ensure that the efficiency of the system is optimal.

Econing will perform the necessary inspections on boiler installations and issue you with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Inspections will be only carried out by qualified and experienced engineers accredited as assessors to perform such appraisals.

We will assess the efficiency of your heating system as a whole. In addition, we will provide suggestions as to how the efficiency of your boiler installation can be improved in order to obtain significant savings on fuel consumption and costs. We will verify that you are getting the most from your fuel by assisting in the tuning of the boiler burner to ensure optimum fuel combustion efficiency.
