Energy Audits

An energy audit is the first step to assess how much energy your building is consuming an evaluate opportunities to make it more efficient. A suitably conducted audit identifies problem areas which, when corrected, offer significant savings. An energy audit also identifies how efficient your water, lighting, ventilation, cooling and heating equipment operates.

Econing provides professional energy audits for offices, hotels, retail, residential and small commercial buildings. We also offer different two levels of energy audit, namely:

  • Screening Audit:  in which we perform a walk-through of your building and familiarise with the building operation to identify areas of energy waste or inefficiency. We review your recent utility bills and identify consumption patterns. We then establish whether you are opting for the most suitable tariff, if applicable. We also suggest corrective actions and estimate their cost and payback period.

  • Site Energy Audit:  is a more site specific audit recommended for buildings which are beyond residential use. We collect detailed information about the building operation and perform a detailed evaluation of energy conservation measures. We review utility bills for the past three years and distinguish energy consumption profiles and any energy escalation patterns. We also evaluate sub-meter readings if available. It may also be necessary to make a number of interviews with your personnel to enable us to recognise potential behavioral improvements that could provide considerable energy savings. Finally, we recommend corrective measures and provide their financial analysis to some detail and establish site-specific cost saving opportunities.
